Toe separators: Fashion or here to stay?

Are toe separators a trend or are they here to stay?

Currently, toe separators have become very popular due to their effectiveness in correcting problems in the lower limbs, such as bunions, claw toes, Morton's neuroma, and many other pathologies usually caused by misalignment of the toes.

In Spain, thanks to personalities like Cristina Pedroche, R. Motion, or Jesús Serrano, toe separators have started to become known and to gain a place among those who take foot care seriously.

What are toe separators for?

Toe separators are devices used to improve the alignment of the toes throughout their structure, bones, and soft parts of the foot, managing to improve or correct foot problems such as painful bunions, claw toes, corns between the toes, etc.

But are they a trend? Does it make sense to use toe separators?

The use of these dates back several centuries, with other cultures beginning to use them to treat foot problems, so it is not a modern invention popularized by social media, but something that has been used for quite some time.

In Japanese culture, for example, wooden toe separators called “ashi-yubi” are used to correct the alignment of the toes. In Indian culture, copper toe separators called “havala” are used to treat foot problems.

As you can see, this is not a trend but something used for centuries to correct foot problems and ailments, and it makes perfect sense that they exist and we use them because, due to the current footwear culture and other habits, we are losing the functionality of the foot and its perfect anatomy.

 Haven't tried them yet?

At Roots Barefoot, we invite you to try toe separators and see for yourself how they make you feel.

Of course, these tools alone make no sense if we go back to squeezing our feet into tight shoes.
