Our process

2023

The beginning

ROOTS began to take shape in 2022, but it was not until the end of 2023 that we made the leap.

We started with what we knew best and had tried in many forms: toe separators and spacers—small products, but powerful to begin with.
Spacers were not well known in Spain, so we had to do a great deal of educational work.

2024

First barefoot model

We launched our first barefoot footwear: the CASUAL model. A simple, practical design, made for beginners. It sold faster than we expected.

And that’s when we realized we could offer something different: barefoot shoes that are easy to get, without fuss. That same year, we designed and released two new models: Urban and Freedom.

We tested, adjusted, and learned as we went. It was intense, chaotic, but truly ours.

2025

Staying was the goal

2025 was the year when ROOTS began to take root. We expanded sizes, opened new lines — women’s and mountain — improved designs, and added tools. We worked with experts, reached more barefoot stores, and got involved in social projects.

But it was also a challenging year. Barefoot footwear became popular and many new brands appeared. Some with solid proposals, but many others without knowledge or experience.

We decided to stay true to our way of doing things, even though it was not easy. ROOTS was not a project born from business: We had been living barefoot for years as part of our way of life and that was what we needed to show.

2026

A radical change

Looking ahead to 2026, ROOTS faces a clear evolution of the project. In 2026, we want to become strong. We will continue building on what sets us apart: experience, consistency, and comprehensive foot care. That is why we will keep offering what we believe is needed: useful, honest, and well-thought-out products that encompass complete foot care. We want to launch different models that fill real gaps, collaborate with more specialists, and create a strong network around foot care.
