1. SHIPPING CONDITIONS

1.1 Order receipt


You can receive our orders at the address you choose (home, workplace, post office, mailbox, etc.). Deliveries to Educational Centers, Hospitals, Public Agencies, and other properties where there are restrictions on public access are not guaranteed to be made directly to the recipient, with the order considered fulfilled and liability released once the order has been made available to the recipient at reception or the place that serves as access control.

Please provide the delivery address as complete as possible. If your delivery address is difficult to find or access, choose that of a family member, friend, or trusted staff who can receive your shipment. 

If the address provided by the customer is incorrect or incomplete and the order cannot be delivered, it will be returned to our warehouse. In this case, the customer must bear the additional shipping costs for reshipment.

 

1.2 Delivery times



At Roots Barefoot we strive to meet the delivery times we offer as much as possible. However, it is important to note that these times are merely informative and are not binding or contractual. Occasionally, factors beyond our control may affect order delivery, such as breakages or breakdowns during transport, lost packages, local holidays, absences at the delivery address at the time of delivery, among others. 

 

Processing Time:
Processing time refers to the period we need to prepare your order once we receive it. This includes product verification, packaging, and preparation for shipping. This process, under normal conditions, is carried out within 24 hours from the confirmation of your purchase. During high demand periods, such as promotions or special launches, this processing time may be extended due to the volume of orders. 

Orders placed on Friday from 4 p.m., and during Saturday and Sunday, are prepared on the following Monday/Tuesday. 

 

Shipping time for items in stock: 

Once the order has been processed and prepared in our warehouses, it is handed over to the carrier, who is responsible for its distribution within the estimated times indicated below.

We strive to always meet these delivery times. However, once the order has been handed over to the carrier, the times may be affected by causes beyond ROOTS BAREFOOT's control, so we cannot guarantee exact delivery times nor be responsible for possible delays attributable to the transport service.

Pre-order orders: All pre-order orders (along with the products they contain) will be shipped when the pre-order ends. All pre-order information will be visible on the website. If you want to receive part of a pre-order, the corresponding shipping costs will be charged. 

  • If your order includes pre-sale products, the shipment will be made on the estimated date indicated on the product page. The shipping cost will be paid at the time of purchase, which allows us to prepare and dispatch your order as a priority as soon as it is ready for delivery.
  • If an order contains pre-sale products and others in stock, everything will be shipped together on the latest availability date, unless the customer requests a partial shipment by paying the corresponding additional costs.

 

* Black Friday, Christmas, and sale seasons: The preparation and shipping time of orders may be altered due to the high volume of orders handled on those days. In our own warehouse, order preparation times may be extended and logistics companies may experience delays in deliveries. 

 

(*) Explanatory NOTES:

* Order deliveries will always be made Monday to Friday. Occasionally deliveries may be made on Saturday and Sunday, but without obligation. 

* Delivery times are counted from the moment the order leaves our warehouse, which we notify by email including the order tracking number.

* Delays Due to External Causes: Roots Barefoot is not responsible for delays caused by natural phenomena, strikes, disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or any other event beyond our control.

(*) We strive to meet the estimated shipping time, although please remember that once the order is in the carrier's hands, we have no control over exact delivery times nor are we responsible for possible delays in final delivery.

(*) During high demand periods, such as holidays, promotions, or special launches, this processing time may be extended due to order volume. 

 

1.3 Shipping costs

 

SPAIN:


Peninsula:

  • For orders under 50€:  Express Shipping 24h-72h: 4.50€
  • For orders equal to or over 50€: Express Shipping 24h-72h: free shipping.

 

Balearic Islands

  • Express Shipping: 9€

Canary Islands

  • Standard shipping: 20€. The transit time for this shipment depends on customs clearance, so in case of inspections, stoppages, or delays, ROOTS Barefoot is not responsible for failure to meet these delivery times. We mandatorily require the DNI to process these orders. 
  • All orders shipped to the Canary Islands are subject to customs clearance, which may involve customs handling fees by the shipping company and for which ROOTS Barefoot SL is not responsible (see point 1.7)

 

PORTUGAL: 

  • On orders less than €50, Express Shipping: €4.50
  • On orders equal to or greater than €50, Express Shipping: free shipping.
  • We do not ship to the Azores and Madeira Islands.

*In the case of free shipping promotions, they will only apply to shipments made within the Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). Shipments to the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, and the rest of Europe are excluded from these promotions. 

** The minimum amount for free shipping may vary as determined by ROOTS BAREFOOT SL, depending on promotions, campaigns, etc. 

1.4 Reshipments and returns due to delivery problems (incorrect address, absence, or non-collection of the package)

 

1.4.1 Absence at home or package not collected at PS. 


If the customer is not available for delivery, the order will be deposited at the corresponding branch or pickup point for a maximum period of 7 calendar days.

During that period, the carrier (for example, GLS) will notify the customer via SMS and other alerts about the need to pick up their package. If the order is not collected within that timeframe, it will be automatically returned to our warehouse.

Once received at our facilities, the customer has 30 days from the order date to claim it. In that case, they may choose from the following options:

Order reshipment

In case of requesting a reshipment of an order, a fixed logistics cost will apply, intended to cover the costs of return, management, preparation, and new shipment of the package:

  • Spain and Portugal: 6 €
  • Other destinations: 20 €

Partial refund

In case of requesting a partial refund, the product amount will be refunded, deducting:

  • The original shipping costs (if any).
  • The logistics cost arising from the management and return of the package, which will be:
  • Spain and Portugal: 6 €
  • Other destinations: 20 €

 

This fixed cost is a reduced fee. In reality, the actual cost of logistics management is higher, but at ROOTS Barefoot we absorb part of it to make these processes as easy as possible for our customers.

It is the customer's responsibility to track the shipment using the provided tracking number and to pick up the package within the timeframe stipulated by the courier company. The customer will receive automatic notifications (email or SMS) from the carrier. Failure to receive these notifications does not exempt from fulfilling this obligation, as the generation and sending of these messages depend directly on the transport company and the data entered at the time of purchase.

Under no circumstances is Roots Barefoot responsible for costs arising from non-collection or repeated absence, except for errors directly attributable to our company (for example, incorrect address managed by us or defective product).

Once the order has been returned to our warehouse and 30 days have passed without contact from the customer, the order will be considered abandoned and neither a refund nor a reshipment will be possible.

This policy is not only accessible and visible here, but it is also supported by current legislation, specifically Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 on consumer protection. This regulation establishes that the right of withdrawal applies when the consumer has received the order and decides to return it within 14 days. In this case, the order was not collected, so this right does not fully apply, but rather according to the specific conditions for these situations mentioned above. 

1.4.2 Incorrect delivery details. 

If the order cannot be delivered because the address or phone number provided by the customer is incorrect or incomplete, and the package is returned to our facilities, the customer must bear the costs of return and reshipment.

The cost of reshipment is €6 within the mainland territory. If the destination is outside the Peninsula, the corresponding amount for standard shipping according to the zone will apply (check prices on our website).

Please carefully verify that all delivery details are correct before completing your purchase. If you have any doubts, you can contact us to review the details together and avoid any issues.

If the customer prefers not to receive the order once it has been returned to our warehouse, a partial refund will be processed. In this case, the amount corresponding to the partial refund (detailed in the previous section) will be deducted from the total to be refunded, as compensation for the logistical costs already incurred (initial transport, return, and handling).

 Any error or modification in the address after the order has been dispatched may cause delays or additional costs, for which Roots Barefoot is not responsible.

1.5 Shipping Address Changes and Additional Costs. 


If the customer does not notify a change of address before the shipment of an order, and it has to be redirected or rerouted due to a failed delivery, the additional costs generated by the courier company must be borne by the customer. Furthermore, if the package returns to our warehouses for subsequent reshipment to the corrected address, the reshipment will have a fee detailed in the order reshipment section for each additional shipment that must be made.

Any error or change after dispatch may cause a delay that is not your responsibility.

 

1.6 Shipments to the Canary Islands and Customs Requirements. 


To be able to ship to the Canary Islands, it is essential that the customer provides their DNI at the time of purchase or upon our request. If the customer does not provide this information and the package is held at customs, the shipment cannot be completed. If the customer does not respond and the order is returned to our warehouses, all costs associated with the return and customs handling must be covered by the customer. The order amount will be refunded minus the costs associated with shipping and returning the package (which will depend on the weight and volume of the order).

All orders shipped to the Canary Islands are subject to customs clearance, which may involve customs handling fees (ancillary charges) by the shipping company. These fees are independent of Roots Barefoot and must be borne by the customer at the time of delivery.

Although most of our products are exempt from VAT and duties due to their value, carriers apply a fee for the management of the DUA (Single Administrative Document). This amount is usually a 2.5% charge on the declared value of the order, with a minimum cost that may vary between carriers (usually between €6 and €28).

We recommend consulting with the courier company responsible for delivery to learn about possible costs before finalizing the order. In case of package refusal due to non-acceptance of these charges, the return may not be refundable.

 

1.7 International shipping and customs policy

All our international shipments are made under the DAP (Delivered At Place) modality. This means that, if the order is destined for a country outside the European Union or territories requiring customs procedures, taxes, duties, fees, or any other expenses generated at the customs of the destination country will be borne by the customer.

Customs regulations vary by country, so Roots Barefoot has no control over these costs and cannot estimate them in advance, so we recommend checking the applicable import conditions in your country before making your purchase. On our part, we ensure to prepare the necessary documentation for clearance, but we cannot be held responsible for additional costs that local authorities may require for the release of the goods.

By confirming your order, you accept and understand that if customs charges are generated in the destination country, these will be your responsibility.

Important:
Although the destination country is in Europe, if it is outside the European Union — such as Switzerland, United Kingdom, or Norway, among others — customs duties, import taxes, or additional charges may apply. These costs are not included in the price of your purchase nor in the shipping fees you paid when placing your order, so it is the customer's responsibility to pay them. 

 Additionally, we are not responsible for storage fees or delays resulting from non-payment of these customs charges.



    How can I process a size exchange or return? Plus sign

     

    Our return policy is governed by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of November 16, which approves the consolidated text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, as well as by Law 7/1996 on Retail Trade Regulation, amended by Law 47/2002 to adapt it to European Directive 97/7/EC.

    At Roots Barefoot, customers have 14 calendar days from receipt of the order to exercise their right of withdrawal, in accordance with current legal regulations. Additionally, our commercial policies offer a simple returns process, also with a period of 14 calendar days. It is essential that the products are unused, in their original packaging, and with all tags and accessories included; otherwise, we may not accept the exchange or return. 


    1. POLICY ON SIZE EXCHANGES

     

    Rates

    • Spain and Balearic Islands The first size exchange is free. From the second exchange, the cost is 5.90€. 
    • Portugal:  The first size exchange is free. From the second exchange, the cost is 5.90€
    • Canary Islands: Size exchanges are not made; only returns.
    • International: International size exchanges have a cost of 15€. Any shipment outside mainland Spain, Portugal, Balearic Islands, and Canary Islands is considered international, including countries within the European Union and the rest of Europe.

     

     Requirements to accept the size exchange: 

    • The product to be exchanged must arrive at ROOTS Barefoot in perfect condition, without signs of use that prevent its sale (clean soles, materials without deformation or wear marks).
    • You must keep all your labels and the original packaging.
    • It is essential that the product is properly protected with additional packaging to avoid damage during transport.
    • If the product or its original box arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging, the exchange will be rejected.

    How to make a size exchange?

    • Manage the exchange through our returns platform (Reveni) in the section "How to manage size exchanges and returns?" on our website.
    • Enter your order number and email on the platform and select: size exchange. 
    • You can select the size exchange of the same color or another. 

     

    What to do when exchanging sizes?

    • Complete the procedure on our REVENI platform
    • When you finish the process, you will receive a return label by email which you must show at the post office when returning the incorrect size. Printing is not necessary. Returns are not managed at home; the customer must return the product to the selected transport company's facilities. 
    • Protect the original box with packaging to avoid damage during transport. Do not stick the shipping label directly on the box. 
    • You have nothing else to do, in the next few days you will receive the new size at your home.

     

    Items that do not allow size exchange. 

    For hygiene and safety reasons, we do not accept exchanges or returns of products that have direct contact with the skin or that may be affected in their hygienic integrity after being handled. This includes:

    • Full ROOTS CARE range
    • Socks
    • Insoles

    This policy is applied in compliance with Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, which allows excluding the right of withdrawal for sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons and/or that have been unsealed after delivery.



    2. POLICY OF RETURNS

     

     Rates

    • Mainland Spain, Balearic Islands: A charge of €5.90 will apply for the return of up to 2 products and €3.00 for each additional product. 
    • Portugal A charge of €5.90 will apply for the return of up to 2 products and €3.00 for each additional product.
    • Canary Islands: cost borne by the customer (includes customs fees). ROOTS BAREFOOT SL will not pay any costs not covered by the customer in the return. 
    • International: A charge of €15.00 will apply for the return of up to 2 products and €3.00 for each additional product. Any shipment outside mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, and Portugal is considered international, including countries within the European Union and the rest of Europe.

     

    Return requirements:

    • The footwear must be in perfect condition, without signs of use that prevent its sale (clean soles, materials without deformation or wear marks).
    • You must keep all your tags and the original packaging.
    • It is essential that the product is properly protected with additional packaging to avoid damage during transport.
    • If the product arrives damaged or the box unusable due to inadequate packaging, the return will be rejected.
    • Products delivered as a promotional gift are part of a commercial action conditioned on the effective completion of the purchase.

      In case of total or partial return of the order, the customer must also return the promotional product, unused, in its original packaging, and in conditions suitable for resale.

      If the promotional product is not returned, is returned used, incomplete, or in conditions that prevent its sale, ROOTS BAREFOOT reserves the right to deduct from the refund amount the value of the unreturned product, calculated according to its current non-promotional retail price at the time of purchase.

      This condition will apply regardless of the reason for the return and will not affect the legal right of withdrawal from the main order.

    How to make the return?

    • Make the return on our website through the section "How to manage size exchanges and returns?", following the instructions and accessing our returns platform (Reveni).
    • Enter your order number and email on the platform and select the product to return/exchange. 
    • Returns are not managed at home; the customer must return the product to the facilities of the selected transport company. 

     

    Return process:

    In Spain, Balearic Islands, and Portugal: 

    • When requesting the return through our REVENI platform, you will receive a return label to drop off the package at the designated office (according to the carrier indicated on the label).
    • There is no need to print the label; just show the barcode.
    • Once you request the return through our platform, you can choose the refund option that best suits your needs:
      • Refund to the original payment method: The amount will be refunded directly to the payment method used at the time of purchase, once the package has been received, inspected, and confirmed to be in good condition. 
      • Store credit: The refund amount is applied as a balance to your Roots Barefoot account, allowing you to use it for future purchases. Store credit is processed in just 1 second. 
    Important: The refund will be made exclusively on the final amount paid for the product, taking into account any discount or promotion applied at the time of purchase.
    Original shipping costs will not be refunded.
    ROOTS BAREFOOT SL has up to 14 calendar days to proceed with the refund. 

    International: 

    Clarification on refunds with applied discounts

    The refund will always be made on the amount paid by the customer, not on the original product price.
    If the product was purchased with any discount, promotional code, or during a sale campaign, the amount to be refunded will be exactly what the customer paid in their order.


    Returns due to manufacturing or handling errors:

    • If the reason for the return is a defect in the product or shipping by Roots Barefoot, the return shipping costs will be fully covered by us as long as the product has not been used.
    • If a purchased product shows a manufacturing defect after use, it will be replaced at no cost to the customer.
      It is important to highlight that, since it is a used product, the amount paid will not be refunded.
    • If the defect is detected before using the product, we cover all expenses and can exchange or refund it.
    • If the defect appears after use and is within warranty, it will be replaced at no cost, but the amount will not be refunded.

     

    Return restrictions:

    For hygiene and safety reasons, we do not accept exchanges or returns of products that have direct contact with the skin or that may be affected in their hygienic integrity after being handled. This includes:

    • Full ROOTS CARE range
    • Socks
    • Insoles

    Are there products that CANNOT be exchanged or returned?

    Based on the current law cited at the beginning of this page, NO returns are accepted for the following:

    1. Items that come into contact with the body for use: For hygiene reasons, returns or exchanges are not accepted for this type of item. Examples: Full RootsCare range, Anatomical Socks, and insoles.
    2. Items that are not suitable for resale. They must be returned in the same condition in which they were received, with their original individual packaging and all their tags, in perfect condition. Used items are not accepted.

     

    Frequently Asked Questions about Exchanges and Returns with REVENI

     

    1. What happens if I do not send the products after requesting the refund?
      If you do not send the products within the agreed period, you will be breaching REVENI's conditions, and the process to recover the refund will be initiated.
    2. What happens if I send an incorrect or unsuitable product?
      If you send a product that is not the one requested or not in usable condition, the return will be rejected and REVENI will take the necessary measures to recover the refund. For factory defective products, you must contact ROOTS Barefoot before starting any procedure on the platform. 
    3. What do I do if I decide to keep the product after having requested an instant refund?
      In this case, contact our ROOTS BAREFOOT Customer Service team. 
    4. Why do I have to enter my bank account if I already provided the data when purchasing?
      To process the refund, a bank transfer is necessary. REVENI does not have access to the purchase card data, and the bank details are used exclusively for the refund.
    5. Are my data safe with REVENI?
      Yes, REVENI complies with the GDPR and applies strict internal security policies, as well as undergoing regular audits to ensure the protection of your data.
    6. Why does REVENI contact me by email if I have not given my data?
      By accepting the terms and conditions when requesting an exchange or return, you consent to REVENI contacting you if necessary, for example, in case of a delay in order processing.

    Can the delivery address be changed? Plus sign

    Yes, but it is important that if you notice a mistake, you let us know as soon as possible. If the order has already been sent, we can only change the street number, floor, or door, not the street name, postal code, or province.

    How long does it take to receive a refund after returning a product? Plus sign

    Returns take approximately 7 to 10 days to reach our warehouse. Once we receive the product, if it is in good condition, the refund will be made automatically. The official refund period is 20 days.

    I sent an email to customer service, how long do they take to respond? Plus sign

    We strive hard to provide a reply as quickly as possible, both by email and through online chat. Usually, if we have not answered you within 24/48 hours, please write to us again as the message may have been misplaced.

    BAREFOOT FOOTWEAR
    How to make the transition to barefoot shoes Plus sign

    To transition to barefoot footwear, start gradually. Wear your barefoot shoes for short periods at first, allowing your feet to adapt. Gradually increase the wearing time to strengthen the muscles. Maintain a natural posture and pay attention to your walking form. Listen to your body and if you feel any discomfort, reduce the wearing time.

    How do I measure my foot? Plus sign

    Inside each shoe, you will find a link that says "What is my size?". This link will guide you to correctly measure your foot and choose the right size based on the shoe you want.

    Remember that for barefoot shoes to make sense, you need to allow an extra margin of about 0.7 cm to the length of your foot.

    How to clean each model? Plus sign

    The FREEDOM MODEL is recommended to be hand washed. Soak or immerse the shoes in warm or cold water with a mild detergent or neutral soap. Use a brush to scrub away dirt. You can remove the laces and soak them or put them in the washing machine. Scrub the entire mesh surface. For cleaning the sole, you can use a stiffer brush. Once cleaned, place the shoes in a cool, well-ventilated place to air dry. Avoid leaving them in the sun or near heat sources, such as radiators, as this can affect the shape and integrity of the materials.

    We do not recommend washing them in the washing machine, as some parts of the structure may come apart, deform, or deteriorate.

    The insoles must not be washed in the washing machine under any circumstances, as they could break, shrink, or lose color. Always clean them by hand and with great care.

    If you choose to wash them in the washing machine (shoes or insoles), it will be at the customer's own risk, and Roots Barefoot will not be responsible for any damage that may occur.

    FOR THE URBAN/COURTLINE MODEL it is not advisable to put them in the washing machine. Use a clean, soft cloth or a soft brush to remove dirt from the surface.
    Do not use harsh cleaning products.
    Once the dirt and residue have been removed, wipe the shoes with a clean, damp cloth to remove any remaining cleaning product.
    Let the shoes dry completely in a cool, well-ventilated place. Do not expose the shoes to direct sunlight or heat.
    If the shoes are very dirty, you may need to clean them thoroughly with a specialized microfiber cleaner.
    Follow the cleaner’s instructions carefully and test it first on a less visible area to ensure it does not damage the leather.

    If you choose to wash them in the washing machine (shoes or insoles), it will be at the customer's own risk, and Roots Barefoot will not be responsible for any damage that may occur.

    FOR THE LIVANA MODEL:

    Do not wash in the washing machine

    Exterior: Clean with a damp cloth or soft-bristled brush and neutral soap diluted in water. Gently rub to avoid damaging the technical fabric.
    Avoid using harsh products, bleach, or strong detergents.
    Print: Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth with neutral soap. Do not rub hard to preserve the textures.
    Interior: Clean with a barely damp cloth with water and neutral soap. Do not soak the material.
    If it has a removable insole, take it out and clean it separately.

    Drying: Dry in the shade, in a ventilated place.
    Do not use a dryer, radiators, or direct sunlight.
    You can place paper inside to absorb moisture and keep the shape.

    If you choose to wash them in the washing machine (shoes or insoles), it will be at the customer's own risk, and Roots Barefoot will not be responsible for any damage that may occur.


    NOMAD MODEL
    Although they can be put in the washing machine, we do not recommend it, mainly because the Nomad has an interior made of a type of material that can clump with the strong spins of the washing machine. It is a bit like putting a down coat in the washing machine.

    If you still decide to put them in, always do so:

    • On a short and gentle cycle.
    • At a low temperature.
    • And accompanied by plenty of clothes (towels, blankets, etc.) to prevent them from hitting the drum and becoming deformed or clumped.

    But our ideal recommendation is to wash them by hand. You can do it very simply:

    We do not recommend using the separators for more than 2 hours at a time (this will depend on personal tolerance). Also, they should always be used while moving. With toe spacers, you can wear them all day if you want, as long as you have gradually increased their use.

    Our personal recommendation would be to use the spacers during your workday since you won’t notice you have them on, and combine them with separators during more specific moments like sports, stretching, gym training, etc. These separators offer many benefits in such activities.
